Lipsticks & Glosses For Spring - Inspired by SS/17 Trends
High Street And High End
While making this List of various paints for the lips! I was really inspired by what we saw on the SS/17 runway- Lots and lots of pink, Even if Pink isn't for you, I've included loads of shades so you'll definitely find one that will suit your undertones! I even added bursts of other colours to this list that are perfect for the ethereal spring palette.
Lipsticks
By Terry Lipstick - Pink Party
I wanted to begin with one of the brightest Pink lipsticks I own, It's so lively, and fun, I think it's rare to find such a bright, loud pink that doesn't come across as cheap when you wear it. It's a power lipstick, just like your favourite red.
The formula is also beautifully buttery and soft -which isn't surprising from By Terry, but all the same makes the pink soft on the lips and easy to wear, which is really important when it comes to bold lipsticks.
Charlotte Tilbury - Miss Kensington
Moving into the more nude hued tones, still with a blue pink the Charlotte Tilbury Miss Kensington Lipstick is the perfect everyday shade, It's fresh, it's light, it's classic. It's a really good shade because the nude will melt into your natural lips - not looking harsh or washing you out.
Lipstick Queen - Hang Ten
This Lipstick is a peachy perfect nude, the peach tone gives it life, while its nude keeps it Inspired by SS/17 since at Burberry we saw the models walking in a nude beige, I wanted a Lipstick that reflected lots of the barely there vibes on the catwalk, but also something versatile.
This Lipstick is sheer & moisturising, and has an spf of 15 which definitely made it a holiday weather favourite of mine,so I'm excited to bring It back for spring.
Matte Lip creams
NYX - soft matte lip cream - ANTWERP
This shade is probably my absolute favourite for spring, It reminds me of a pink rose, the colour sits really nicely and layers so beautifully, it's not so strong that it's a statement lip and has to be worn alone but it's strong enough to the point where you could just wear this lip cream with subtle makeup and it would really pop.
NYX - matte lip cream - Barcelona
This ones for the parties, the everyday, the early mornings that end with late nights -
The Formula seems to stay for a really long time so how ever busy you are you know you're going to be okay, and you'll get through without your lips being smudged everywhere a few hours in.
This Lip looks so striking with a monochromatic outfit as it contrasts so well, and is almost like a bold accessory to the look., it's a really easy way to look really put together .
The red lip is timeless, so I like the refreshing take the matte lip paint creates, since it's a modern trend mixed with a classic one.
This shade of red is also so vibrant, its so shockingly bright, the shade of red isn't something I own elsewhere in my collection. It has a new kind of colour quality, the only way to describe it is to say that the name Barcelona is really fitting.
Lip Glosses
Sisley phyto-lip star - Rose Quartz
It's 2017 and diamonds are still a girls best friend, Crushed pink diamonds is a look I'm ready to serve this spring, the whole gloss is beautiful, stunning, it's so spring I don't think it could suit a season better.
Smith & Cult Lip gloss - Flesh Riot
This is my favourite natural lip gloss all year round, it's non sticky and reflects light perfectly without being thick or heavy. This gloss is really natural and instantly makes you look put together, without drying your lips out or giving you anything to worry about. I think especially as the sun starts to show this lip gloss is an absolute staple.
Nyx - Butter Gloss - Cotton candy
I think the Nyx butter glosses have to be my favourite affordable formula of lipgloss, They're pigmented, non sticky, and moisturising - a thin layer can be so powerful, but it's sheer at the same time, the finished look is really ethereal and light.
The shade cotton candy, is a bubble gum pink, it's really fun and reminds me somewhat of the noughties, yet it fits perfectly into the SS/17 trends- a light pop of pink- I'm imagining it would work perfectly with the ruffle trend, for a feminine polished look.
Nyx Mega Shine Lip gloss - Nude Pink
This gloss is undeniably thick and heavy, definitely for the 'hair up ' days if you don't want your hair sticking all over your lips.
But truly this gloss is also a perfect pantone pink and delivers so so much pigment its like a strong lipstick paired with a vinyl level of glossiness. Since the shade is so strong if you're darker or find lighter nudes can wash you out, dab the shade over your lips for an angelic pink shine.
